[Trainer-Talk] TTY troubles on an iPhone

Good morning all,
I'm hoping someone has some ideas for me on this one. I have a client
who is deaf blind, she is using an iPhone 5s with IOS 10.2.1 with a
Braille Sense U2. Yesterday I was trying to train her to use the new
TTY software built in to IOS 10, and when I sent messages from her
device it showed up on my iPhone as a bunch of random letters and
characters. However, on her device it showed up as written. Also, when
sending back to her the messages never showed up on her device. I
should mention that I have tested TTY on this iPhone before about 4
weeks ago, and it worked to make both TTY direct and TTY Relay calls
without a problem. I contacted T-Mobile to determine if there were any
additional settings needed to make this work on her end and they were
not aware of anything else that needed done. A call to apple and apple
accessibility yielded no better results. I turned off and back on TTY,
as well as reset all network settings. I tried while connected to Wifi
as well as over cellular. I also tried without VO running at all and
we got the same behavior. Lastly, I have verizon, and we had someone
call with another phone and it worked perfectly. So, I suspect it has
something to do with her phone, but I've no idea what at this point!
Thanks for any help.
