Dear colleagues,
As we were on the topic of Braille displays, I thought I’d enlist the collective thinking of the group on an intriguing issue I’m experiencing.
I obtained a Varioultra 20 last year and I am extremely pleased with the unit and believe it to be one of the best available; having owned a Brilliant 32 for a few years, I have something to contrast with. The Brilliant is a beautiful unit and if it had the smart features of the Varioultra, would be perfect, but I digress.
I live in the Caribbean and my varioultra works well, except when I travel.
I visited a south-americas country in October and the unit refused to connect via bluetooth with my iPhone 6s. Now before the argument is suggested that the varying charging cycle may have caused the issue, I should say that the problem arose when I was checking in to the hotel and thus had no opportunity yet to charge the unit.
In December, I went to London and the same thing happened. On both occasions I unpaired the device and added it again and while it worked on some occasions, it wold only last as long as I kept the phone unlocked.
I took it last week to one of my neighbouring Caribbean islands and once again it had similar issues.
The odd thing about all of this is that as soon as I return to my home country, it works perfectly.
Any ideas on what is the problem? I travel quite a bit on business and you would understand why this would be a problem.
Regards
