Most cases in adobe reader you can go to the edit menu and ran the accessibility wizard. On the last page you can uncheck the box to have PDFs open in the web browser. Certain online forms force you to use the web browser to work properly but in most cases for documents you just want to read this should work fine. It is also possible the accessibility wizard has moved. They keep sticking it on different menus.

Hi Nancy,
Which browser are you using, and are the PDFs being downloaded from a web portal like Blackboard? I find that those two pieces impact my work-arounds.

Thanks!

I actually don't even care if they open in a browser as long as there is a way to read them. I don't want to use convenient OCR for all of them. Activating the parent document button doesn't work or seem to do anything. Should we be using a different default reader′
