[Trainer-Talk] file sharing drive suggestions

Hello,
Does Microsoft One Note work okay with voice over?
Also, what are some of the accessibility
quirks? So far, as I experiment with Word on IOS, I think a quirk may be
the lack of ability to see format attributes like italics and where one
paragraph ends and begins. It seemed like Voice Over read through it and
would not announce that even when I went line by line.At least you can read
the files though. So, I could read notes I took at home on the portable
tablet and this is nice to do and I could teach others about that.
Thanks, Brad for this information. I was pretty sure Microsoft worked to
some extent but you confirmed it.
Ashley

In answer to your question, Microsoft applications such as Word, do work on
an iOS device, but there are some VoiceOver accessibility quirks that take
some getting use to. You will also need an Office 365 subscription if you
want unrestricted use of the applications.

Brad and all,
Thanks for responding. Its good to know that One Drive app works on both IOS
and mac.
Do Microsoft applications work well on IOS though? For instance, if I bought
the Word app and wanted to edit and add info to a file, can I do this easily
with voiceOver?
I hope that will work because a common format is Word files. I know IOS has
an equivalent program to Word but I don't think I'd use that; I do not have
a mac and plan to do my Word processing and most large file creation on a
pc.
But reading files on a tablet will help in the ease of access because a
tablet and smart phone are portable and light.
Thanks.

I agree with David.
There is also a One Drive app for both Mac and iOS. They both are very
accessible with VoiceOver.

While I have used Dropbox and find it to be totally accessible my personal
preference is OneDrive. In addition to it also being very accessible you
will receive a terabyte of storage if you are an Office 365 subscriber.

Hi All, What are good file sharing sources you can access across platforms?
Particularly IOS tablets and Windows pcs. Also, does Microsoft One Drive
work well on the pc side with screen readers and IOS? Iâ?Td like to use that
if possible. Also, I know we mainly discuss computers and tablets here for
training, but if you all can comment on anything file related that
interfaces with Google Home or the Amazon Echo devices, Iâ?Td like that. I
think I heard that the Microsoft To Do app might interface with the Echo. I
find that dropbox has changed layouts and is no longer very screen reader
friendly; a few unlabeled buttons and arrows to click on and I cannot
determine what they do. I wish dropbox were better to use with screen
readers including Jaws because everyone seems to use it and I wanted to
teach it to others; yet, when they changed it a few years back, I found it
combersome. Thanks in advance! Ashley
