[Trainer-Talk] file sharing drive suggestions

Hello,
Reg,
I am glad to know about this limitation. So, what you are saying is for free
you can read files you get or create on another product such as if I created
a Word file and then put in One drive to see across devices.
But, the user such as me cannot edit the file and save it; you'd need a
subscription.

This does not surprise me; Microsoft wants to make money so you are not
going to get much for free.
I'm actually happy though you all confirmed Microsoft applications can work
on IOS; that seems nice and like a step in the right direction for
accessibility.
Does Word work fairly well if you have a subscription? Will voice over tell
you enough information about the fonts and layout.
Can you edit and spel check?
I was trying to pick Google Docs or MS Word but not both as I do not want to
be overwelmed; but if converting from a google doc to word doc works for
you, that is good.
Is there voice over commands to navigate in small chunks of text in a
document such
as by word and sentence and paragraph? I know about the read all commands
and read from the point of the screen where you were to the end.
If there are commands for a keyboard let me know as well.

Ashley

Microsoft word on the iPhone is supposed to be accessible. However I do not
like it very well. I have had the best luck using Google docs which is free
to create word documents. The free version of Microsoft Word will not let
you save your work unless you’re subscribed to office 365. Google docs will
let you save as a word document although that is not the default format. But
I actually create the new document and save it immediately as word and then
you can write and spellcheck and format and do a lot of things just from the
phone with a Bluetooth keyboard.

Brad and all,
Thanks for responding. Its good to know that One Drive app works on both IOS
and mac.

Do Microsoft applications work well on IOS though? For instance, if I bought
the Word app and wanted to edit and add info to a file, can I do this easily
with voiceOver?
I hope that will work because a common format is Word files. I know IOS has
an equivalent program to Word but I don't think I'd use that; I do not have
a mac and plan to do my Word processing and most large file creation on a
pc.

But reading files on a tablet will help in the ease of access because a
tablet and smart phone are portable and light.

Thanks.
Ashley

I agree with David.
There is also a One Drive app for both Mac and iOS. They both are very
accessible with VoiceOver.

While I have used Dropbox and find it to be totally accessible my personal

will receive a terabyte of storage if you are an Office 365 subscriber.

Hi All, What are good file sharing sources you can access across platforms?
Particularly IOS tablets and Windows pcs. Also, does Microsoft One Drive
work well on the pc side with screen readers and IOS? Iâ?Td like to use that
if possible. Also, I know we mainly discuss computers and tablets here for
training, but if you all can comment on anything file related that
interfaces with Google Home or the Amazon Echo devices, Iâ?Td like that. I
think I heard that the Microsoft To Do app might interface with the Echo. I
find that dropbox has changed layouts and is no longer very screen reader
friendly; a few unlabeled buttons and arrows to click on and I cannot
determine what they do. I wish dropbox were better to use with screen
readers including Jaws because everyone seems to use it and I wanted to
teach it to others; yet, when they changed it a few years back, I found it
combersome. Thanks in advance! Ashley
