Hello:

     If you are using a USB to parallel converter, I suggest using the Aten brand. You need a converter that is fully capable. Some of the less expensive converters may not work.
Be careful when installing the Aten converters and note which port they get assigned to. Otherwise, you may have to dig into the device manager to figure out the port number. I am currently using an Aten USB to serial converter to run an older Braillex braille display that uses a serial port.

Hello Jeanette. I do believe I can do this. You just need a USB to parallel printer cable and you have to set it up as a generic text printer under control panel. None of the stuff should have changed from Windows 7. I would be happy to help if you contact me off list.
