Hi all,

I used OCR for many years since high school and am a young adult now.
I have used Openbook primarily but have on occasion at other places used something else; I think it was Text Cloner Pro.

Are there other OCR tools now for the pc or stand alone which do the same thing and are the same price or less expensive?
I do not think the Sara from Freedom Scientific is still around.

The only other two stand alone OCR solutions I know of are the Simon Reader and the Eye Pal.

I think Openbook is okay but have often wanted something with more accuracy. Openboook does not always pick up paragraph breaks in books.
I also do not always want to be by a pc so I'm interested in stand alone devices.
I want to recommend a simple OCR solution to friends and acquaintenances too who may not have the tech skills for the pc version.
Please tell me if the equipment you suggest can save files in different formats such as daisy, Word, and RTF. Please let me know if it has other features in it such as a book reader for talking books.

New devices are coming out all the time. Hmm, Is there something simple yet better than Openboley
