It looks like you have summed it up pretty accurately. Is there a particular step you are having difficulty with? 

I believe that You only need the app passwords if you have two factor authentication turned on for your Google account.

Hi everyone,

I just installed Office 2019 on our computers.  Does anyone know the procedure to setup your email on Outlook if you have Google handle your mail.  Apparently you have to go to Google and sign into your account and then get a specific app password for Outlook and then create your new account in Outlook and use that password instead of your own gmail password.

Any help would be appreciated.
