I'm not sure if I misspoke about using the alt tab function within a remote session in Team Viewer. Can some set me straight on that please? Thanks.

Hey Ashley,

Great to hear from you.

I would try using Team Viewer for Windows. For the most part, it is fully accessible. Plus, if you are signed up with AIRA, an AIRA agent is able to connect with you remotely on your PC through team viewer and help you with precisely what you would like: inaccessible sites and those horrible, annoying CAPTCHAS .

Team viewer is free, and used by sighted people and I've used it to connect other computers, and with AIRA many times. You can find it here.

Zoom does screen sharing, By default, Zoom does not capture your PC audio when you share your screen, so no, JAWS will not come up when you are doing something with others. You can download Zoom at http://zoom.com/download

Hope this helps a bit. Have an awesome day and stay safe.

Humberto

Hello all,

I am considering software for remote access for another computer. I hope this is not too off topic since I’m not subscribed to other technology lists.

I’d like the software to be able to connect two or three computers. Its for my use using Jaws or another screen reader although the other users may not use assistive technology.
This would enable me to provide help to new Jaws users remotely. It would also enable me to get sighted help from a computer user to operate my pc remotely if website accessibility issues arise.

I am also wondering if I can share my screen using zoom or skype?
If I do this, will the other people hear jaws? I hope not.

One of many ways I could use a remote access software is to shop online because many websites are somewhat inaccessible or just so cluttered visually. How neat it would be for a sighted user I trust to remote access my pc and assist me.

Any recommendations for a no cost or low cost solution?
I would like the following abilities.

I Would like these features.
• Screen reader friendly
• Cross platform
• No time limit
• Compatible with multiple internet browsers including firefox
• Ability to collaborate on tasks such as writing documents

In the past remote access software did not work well with Jaws and I hope this has changed. I use windows and Jaws 2020 usually.

Thanks!

Ashley
