Hi,

By sporadic, I mean the alerts are active again after you send chat messages and close the chat window or alt-tab to another program and alt-tab back to zoom.

That is strange. I’ve never had an issue with the scripts running sporadically.

Hi,

Yes, I downloaded the scripts and they do work sporadically.
Insert-tab reports alerts are active or not.
I'll reply if the alerts stop announcing via a jaws hack.

The command WindowsKey + ALT + S is not a native JAWS command. It is a command from the Zoom scripts from Hartgen Consultancy. These scripts are included in JAWS 2020 by default and can be downloaded for free and installed in earlier versions of JAWS, (JFW 16 through 2019).

Hello Bryan,

To silence Zoom alerts when using JAWS, the toggle command is Alt+Windows+S.
You can press JAWS Key (Insert)+H to learn of other JAWS commands in Zoom.

Hi,

Those strings did not work in the definition list in jaws.
Has anyone silenced these zoom alerts with jaws?

Hello,

As requested in the ATT meeting here are the instructions for silencing Zoom notifications when people join or leave a meeting.

1. Open speech dictionaries and navigate to default dictionary.
2. Add an entry, in the pattern field write "^alert$" without the quotes.
Leave the replacement field blank, and select regular expression.
3. Follow this process again, adding "^(.+) has (.+) the meeting$"
and
"^(.+) have (.+) the meeting$"
4. Make sure you hit the ok button to save these changes.

Thanks to @miki123211 over on twitter for these instructions.

Holly
