Hi JASON:

I am late to this conversation; however, I wanted to add my 2 sense to this. 10 years ago, I did research on deciding between what was Lions World Services for the Blind, now World Services for the Blind, (WSB), and Access Technology Institute, (ATI) for my Assistive Technology certification. At the time, my many reasons for choosing ATI included Less money, better training, bad history with Arkansas from my wife and others who attended, the option to do it virtually, and most importantly, ATI included continuing education while the other did not! I recently had a client who wanted to get certified and did her own research and discovered that at least the Price and the advantage of continuing education still goes to ATI.

I cannot stress the importance and value of continuing education enough! As a new trainer almost 10 years ago, I had colleagues who were certified from Arkansas and had to teach Excel 2010 at the time and their immediate response was, "that's going to be hard since I was certified and only had training in Excel 2003!" Now, this is also on the person to improve themselves, but for me, I'm always caught up with the latest Office simply because I can just get the information from ATI!

Its my personal opinion based on my own research and experiences that ATI over WSB was the right choice for me and is the right choice for my latest client!

This message is also for Kevin, if it would be possible, it would be appreciated if you would be able to talk with me and my client about your experience at World Services. My email is LeadershipJBA at gmail.com <mailto:LeadershipJBA at gmail.com>. Thank you.

I found that learning as many of the short cut keys you can with Jaws will help tremendously. Also if you look at the help menu there is a subserve section after pressing the help menu in Jaws. Study that like crazy. When I was a student at World Services for the Blind. I studied that in my dorm room for almost 8 hours straight. Then reviewed 8 hours the next day. After that I took the certification test. I hope this helps.

> Hello all, I had a few questions for you. I have a client that might be sent to Arkansas’s World Services for the Blind for assistive technology training and certifications. She would like to take the Jaws certification test and we are working on ways to study for the exam. Are there any written resources or study materials that anyone has that can help me out? I am also trying to get Jaws certified and I would like a more structured way to study for the exam as the website is quite vague and not very helpful. If anyone has any tips tricks and any resources on taking and passing the test, it would greatly be appreciated.
