[Trainer-Talk] taking screen shots

Morning all and happy Friday.

Another option for JAWS users is the "virtualize current window" JAWS+alt+w.
It takes what ever content in the current window and puts it into a virtual
viewer and you can save it from there. Very useful for message popups and
other errors where you cannot otherwise copy or paste text.

Thanks, Nik.

Yeah, I'd suggest full screen...but if they're trying to show something
specific, they could do the Window Snip. It tends to keep your privacy a
bit by not capturing everything. Of course there's another side to that
coin, but you get the idea.

That's so cool Amy; which one should a blind person use? Probably full
screen?
Thanks!!!

Hi Don,
I love Windows + Shift + S. You can use Tab to choose "full screen" or
whatever type of capture you want. This copies the screenshot to the
clipboard and you can paste it with the standard Control + V command. You
can open it in the Snip and Sketch program from the Notification Area if
needed and you can save the image from there. Not sure how helpful this is
if the PC just shuts down after the snip is taken, but I find it pretty easy
to do and have found that command a lifesaver!
HTH,
Amy

Hi All,

My customers often tell me that they heard something happen on the screen
that they couldn't figure out, and just rebooted, but they still want me to
fix something; yikes.
I think I would like to tell them how to take and save or send screenshots
when this happens so someone can help interpret what is going on.
Does anyone have good but simple info on print screen, alt print screen,
shift print screen, and whatever else goes with it so we know when to use
what command?
Thanks much.

Don
