[Trainer-Talk] Screen Curtain on iPhone

Hello, I'm not 100 percent sure, but I believe you just cannot remove the
taggle screen curtain on and off feature because even though you may do it
for the touch gestures, you could always turn it on and off with Siri. Did
you try just changing the default touch gesture for turning on and of the
screen curtain? In my case, I don't even remember what the default gesture
was because I changed long time ago the shortcut. Try changing the default
touch gesture, and assign a new one, for instance, I got the four finger
quadruple tap gesture assigned to screen curtain. In all likelihood, I
wouldn't think that someone can perform such a gesture by mere accident.

Best,

Leo Bado

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] Screen Curtain on iPhone

Hi all I'm hoping you can help me with a question.

My mom has the beginning to moderate stages of dementia and she keeps
turning her screen curtain on accidentally. Having the screen visible helps
her orient to the device just a little (and as we know, any sort of change
encountered by people with dementia really can throw them off). At times
she has a care worker help her with her phone and she needs the screen to do
that.

I thought I'd removed the gesture shortcut to turn the screen curtain on and
off in Mom's phone settings so that she couldn't inadvertently activate it,
but that appears to not be working the way I thought it would.

I'm wondering if there is a way to disable the ability to turn the screen
curtain on or off in voiceover at all that I may be missing? I figure my
mother can't be the only one with this issue so there has to be a way to
circumvent the problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Amy
