To end a bulleted list, you can also press enter then backspace to take out
the bullet.

So long as the text you want to be a heading is on a line by iteself, you
don't even need to highlight when using Alt-Control with 1, 2, or 3. Word
automatically makes the entire line the heading level you've told it to use.
Also to end a bulleted list, of courseyou hit enter once, which puts in one
more bullet, but hit enter once more and the bullet goeas away and you'e
ended the list.
