[Trainer-Talk] Outlook with JAWS and a braille display

I usually have my students turn it off in the JAWS settings . I'm just going to walk you through changing them in Outlook rather than all apps, but know you tab to the dropdown and select default all applications if you want it to apply across programs.



  1.  With Outlook in focus, open JAWS Settings (insert + 6)
  2.  Arrow down to Braille and press right arrow to expand.
  3.  Arrow down to Braille Marking and press right arrow to expand
  4.  Continue pressing the right arrow until JAWS says "highlighting". It should indicate highlighting is on.
  5.  Press Space to turn highlighting off
  6.  When finished, press Enter.



There are other ways to navigate the settings center of course, but I'm keeping it simple here.

Good morning all.



I wonder if any of you may be able to help me out with something I have been struggling for a while.

So when ever I use my braille display and I am navigating the Outlook inbox I get extra markings with Dots 7 and 8. Does anyone know where I can turn this off? I have Highlight, and color, and all of the markings off I can find. However, I still get a dot 7 and 8 marking.
