I do have some experience with Epic via a couple of clients of mine, and it’s a pretty mixed bag.  Some of it is reasonably easy to get around, and some of it is just about impossible.  I am actually dealing with a similar situation with another software product at another job, where we are in the process of working with a company to do custom scripts for us to make the software accessible.

With Epic, it really depends on which parts of the software she needs to be able to access whether it’s accessible, because it’s really uneven in my experience.  Have you checked with Chicago Lighthouse to see what they did?  Did they have custom scripts written?  Are those available?
