The Technology Research and Innovation Center (TRIC) Announces
Supporting Your Consumers Who Are DeafBlind Using QWERTY Keyboards on iOS
VoiceOver on an iPhone has been a popular access solution for many
years, many users also include accessories to utilize the operating
system (iOS) more comfortably. Consumers who use speech, individuals
who use a Mantis q40 and for those who prefer typing on a QWERTY
keyboard instead of a braille one, QWERTY keyboards often assist them
in using their iOS Device more efficiently. Demonstrations will be
provided.
Updated for iOS 16, topics in this seminar include:
•       Reasons why a DeafBlind individual may benefit from a Bluetooth
keyboard over other access methods
•       Settings to consider when working with different parts of the
DeafBlind population.
•       How to set up customized keyboard commands and why this may be
necessary.

On-screen sign language interpretation, voice over and captioning will
be provided.
This webinar will be taught by Scott Davert, an expert in the area of
DeafBlind technology.
