[Travelandtourism] trying to find cheap flights for NFB Convention

And that is one of the reasons that I prefer to travel by train. If
you have the extra time (an overnight ride for us, from North Carolina
to Florida), Amtrak is a great way to go. It's less expensive,
especially for the expensive summer months, there are less people
(many people don't even think about going by train), and it's much
more relaxing. On the train, you can walk about, get snacks and even
meals (meals are free with sleeper car rooms, which is comparable to
first-class), and hang out with people in the lounge car or sometimes
there's an observation car (often the second floor of the lounge car,
this is an area where there is glass all around from which you can see
the scenery go by). There are special rooms for disabled persons, and
even if you book a coach seat, if that disabled room is left empty,
they find someone who qualifies for it and wants it, and upgrades
them, sometimes after they are on the train. This happened to me, and
I had no clue what was going on. One minute I was in a coach seat
getting to know my "neighbours" and the next, a lady walked up to me
and asked me if I would please follow her to my room. I was like "What
room?" and she said that I had been offered the disabled person's car,
would I please follow her to it? They thought it would be more
comfortable for me, and they were right, of course! In the disabled
room, you can also take your meals in your room, delivered from the
dining car, and anytime you need assistance, you can ask and they will
assist you with whatever they can, from taking your bed down (it's
heavy and hard to take down if you don't have the strength) to getting
extra pillows or guiding you to the lounge car.
Ok, I'll stop raving about train travel. I absolutely love it, though.
I've gone to Chicago, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and have plans to go
to Florida and California by train, plus another trip to Chicago (the
train from D.C. to Chicago is luxorious!)
If you are not in an extreme hurry to get where you are going, the
train is the best way to go.

company. I am merely a lover of train rides, and have enjoyed this
mode of transportation in the past.
