It's been mentioned that trains stop frequently and you can get off to 
relieve your dog.  My husband has done this, and the conductor has gone with 
him to show him a good place to relieve the dog.  One other advantage to 
this is, the train won't leave without the conductor.  So, ask the conductor 
for help, and you should be fine.
