[Travelandtourism] Cruise Lines and the Blind

Well lets see Maurice Shackelford is a travel agent and has taken a group on a cruise last December. I will be on the Norwegian Jewel in May doing a walk through and inspection so I will make sure these are all correct.  But Cindy I am sure that the cruise lines do not want to be sued again.

And a number of people including a number of people on this list has been on Norwegian and had no problem and that was in the last 2 years.

As well as a number of other cruises.

Cindy, I was just telling everyone that no one informed me until yesterday and I have been with the NFB since 2007 as an active member and a member of DAN since 2002 which I was not getting the Braille Monitor only the Voice of the Diabetic at that time.  No one told me other then you who didn't like NCL for the reservationist issue which I had called to find out the true story and I had that corrected by talking to the big Man Andy himself on the issue.  That NFB had indeed has a lawsuit, maybe if someone especially on this list had pointed it out that I would a offered NAGDU something or as I have been doing not just talking to a customer service rep, but the Vice President of the whole thing.

In fact, I got an e-mail from him this morning that he and the people with NCL are quite away of the repercussions of not following ADA guidelines.

  I hope you're correct about *all* the cruise lines, including 
  Norwegian.  But, until you have had some experience traveling with them, 
  I wouldn't be so quick to say they're all good and don't discriminate.  
  They can tell you anything they choose, but their actions often tell a 
  different story.
