Hello Dewey and everyone,

    What has happened when one airline comes up with some crack-pot idea 
like this? Sooner or later the others follow. If this trend continues there 
will be no choice unless you decide to go the air charter route. You'll have 
far more control but at a price. Not everyone is willing to stretch their 
pocketbooks nor do they want to be bilked for all they have when they decide 
to fly somewhere. If the stances we took to stop airline abuse of the blind 
would catch on among all passengers we could have one hell of an airline tea 
party!

    You may not like flying but you have no right to deny others of that 
convenience by being such a patsy and buying everything the airlines tell 
you. I didn't invent the term "Patsy." Chock that up to Dr. Jernigan when he 
referred to blind persons unwilling to join the NFB when he gave his 1971 
Banquet Address. The same can be said of all airline passengers blind as 
well as sighted. If they continue to tolerate the abuse heaped on them by 
airlines this trend will only continue. I'm glad to hear that members of 
Congress and the DOT are telling them that "Enough is enough."

    Speaking of Dr. Jernigan he once described the airlines as "The Nation's 
biggest bartender and bully!"I'm sure that he and others who fought to 
secure air travel rights for blind persons would be horrified to learn that 
it's not just the blind that are subject to passenger bullying and that the 
booze still flows on airplanes. This is a very sad state of affairs.

I don't mean to be argumentative, but they are a business that in the
business of makeing money, they don't force you to use them.
I don't fly because I can't aford it, so I'm stuck with the greyhound, I
don't like it, but it is what it is.
Maybe if americans would stop being so dam greety and forcing them to pay
more, things would be cheeper.
The government tells them that they have to pay so much, but people get mad
when the business ups there prices.
If you had a business wouldn't you want to make money?
And again I didn't mean to talk down to anyone, that's just how I feel on
this.
