[Travelandtourism] Suggestions about How to Use Delta Tickets?

We have a pair of Delta tickets which have not been used.  They are worth 
$269 each.  Our daughters were going to use them last January to visit my 
sister and mom, but my mom got really sick the week before and she died that 
very week.  These tickets were purchased with a travel certificate.  You 
might know that sometimes it is pretty hard to get grown sisters to 
co-ordinate a vacation.  Well, they didn't do anything with the tickets. 
They were hoping to go somewhere between Christmas and New Year's, when 
they'd both have time off.  Well finally we checked and found that money 
would have to be added to the price of the tickets in order to travel, 
around five hundred dollars each.  Neither girl can afford that.

Any suggestions?  I have thought of seeing if we could get the tickets 
extended into the next year but am not very optimistic about it.

Would love any thoughts.
