Hello Cheryl and everyone,

Perhaps Royal Caribbean should consider having their material produced
in Braille through one of the Braille producers. I'm sure that the Education
Service Center Region Twenty would love to have such a contract.

I am also working very closely for the last 2 years with Norwegian Cruise
Lines, and working with both nagdu and will be contacting my guide dog
school as well, they are wanting to do a tour of the ship, luncheon and q
and a with access desk in reference to guide dogs. I have sailed on NCL in
the past, no they don't have braille, but I love there customer service and
willingness to help, plus I have an outside supplier that can do the braille
on the ship for them.

  Hello:
If this is true it is very sad. My wife and I were told that Braille
printers were on each ship of the fleet. Much of the time they are not
used
but as for being broken my guess is that the persons who do the printing
have not read the instructions or have not loaded the proper drivers into
the computer. We just came back from a cruise in mid February and we had
Braille compass (the ships newspaper). I do not like the idea of having
someone read the compass to you very much but may have to live with it.
When my wife and I travel with another group on Carnival ships the travel
agent gets a crew member, usually one of the cruise director staff, to
record the event schedule each day and it is replayed on a TV channel.
This
would be a great solution and even others who are not blind may appreciate
  it also.

We may have to make a call to RCCL to investigate. We are Emerald level
on
the Crown and anchor society and could switch easily to Carnival/Princess
if
a sufficient answer is not provided.

You say the Braille printers have been broken every time you try to get an
agenda Brailed. Who has been Brailing the material for them?

well I am still investigating the whole thing. I don't like the answers I
am getting, and a few times that I had sent clients that needed Braille
the
  printers were broken.
