Good day all:

I am forwarding the letter that I have received from Mr. Craig George of the Kennedy Space Center, to which we all had issues with in Orlando, before and after our National Convention.

Please read the attached letter.

I also mentioned to Mr. George that  will be in Orlando on November 8 and Ms. Sherri Brun, V.P. of the Orlando Chapter of the NFB will be available to meet each other in reference to this issue, Sherri Brun and I will work diligently on this issue.

Dan Hicks, said that since Orlando is closer to Kennedy then he is, he recommended that I work closely with that chapter.

I apologize again on behalf of our organization for the unfortunate experience you and your group had while visiting the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex this summer.  Please accept our sincere apologies.

 

As you and I had previously discussed, we are reviewing our programs and procedures to ensure that our offerings and services are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and they are accurately reflected on our website and in other published materials.  We are also developing new staff training programs on these important issues so that our crewmembers are better informed and more knowledgeable to assist our guests accordingly, and similar occurrences are averted in the future. 

 

I appreciate your suggestions and feedback and thank you for providing us with the contact information for additional resources from the National Federation of the Blind.  I hope your and your group’s interests in the U.S. Space Program and NASA Kennedy Space Center remains undeterred.
