[Travelandtourism] upcoming changes to the division

Good afternoon all:
Nothing is set in stone as of yet, since all must be approved by the paid membership at the National Convention in Dallas this year.
That is why it is imperative, that if you are planning on attending the convention, that you come to the meeting.
Things we have been working on is a change to what the division is as of right now it is the travel and tourism division.  We are looking to change the name and focus since many people feel that this is just for the travel industry and/or travel agents.
The Division was started with people like Don Gilmore, Doug Johnson, Milton Taylor and others who are not in the travel industry, and was to focus on the blind traveler.
Well we are looking to do this as well. At Convention, we are looking to change the name of the division to the National Association of Blind Travelers and take out the word tourism.
We will still have the same focus as we have been doing, offering advice, suggestions, wanting to hear for our membership and the talk list about where they have been or want to do, traveling with a guide dog, or with a cane, or with a sighted person.
Whether it be on planes, trains, automobiles, buses, cruise ships, to all inclusive resorts, the world, etc.
Talk about different cultures from foods, to experiences, etc.
So we are looking for you to be involved.
Stay tuned for dates and times of the meeting in Dallas, at this time it is being arranged for July 1, 2012
