[Travelandtourism] Division History

I am hoping that others are reading prior to posting. Like I said, I have already posted information that I could find in the Braille Monitor. Mary came into the Division in 2004.
I am also in talks with the originator of the division, Stephanie Scott, and was on the phone yesterday with Don Gilmore, when he read my e-mail to him, and when he saw it, he called me and we talked oh for a good 20 minutes.
He is out there reading all the posts and such, and says Bravo to what we are doing.
He was basically put into the position as President because no one wanted it, to keep the division alive, we have many divisions within the Federation like this, but this one is not going to do that while I am around.
He likes the name change, and that none of the original people who created the division were or are in the travel profession. It is nice that we have members here who are, like Anahit LaBarre, Maurice Shackelford, April Scheppe who is still getting her feet wet, and myself.
But again, we are here to help with the matters that can put light and advice on travel for others and recommend places, but it is up to all to be independent to do it.
Wishing and hoping are not doing. I have learned that from a lot of years being to sick to move from my bed, when you are that sick it changes you inside and out.
So that is why I am putting my heart and soul into the NFB and to our Division.
WE can travel independently with the right tools and advice we can go anywhere.
