The purpose of the National Federation of the Blind Travel & Tourism list is to aid the Division in its two-fold mission to promote independent travel of the blind and to serve as a platform for collective self-expression, advocacy and resource/networking on the travel industry as it pertains to the blind. We are Federationists ON THE MOVE..

> Which means in a nut shell, it is to encourage people to travel, and not just to Alaska and to Disney World or on cruise ships.
> It is for people to get out of there shell and to travel, maybe on a bus trip in your state, or go on a trip with the local library etc.
> It is also for people in the travel industry, or want to be working in the travel industry, to maybe give advice to people who are traveling, put things out there about the airline industry and how it affects us all, as well, as things going on maybe an expansion in Sandals, or things like the All Star Game is going to be at Citi Field in NY next Summer.
> Plus, many people are out of work, and it is something that many of us can do, to become travel professionals. Whether it is a being someone like myself who started out working for a host agency, and continued on to be her own company, or to give advice to others about going into the travel business, working as a customer service with a cruise line or the airlines, etc.
> It all has to do with one another.
> On top of that, fighting the fight for those who want to travel and have more accessibility in the locations they are traveling to.
> We are always wearing our NFB hats.
> Plus, we are supporting on another in business as well, if we don't support the blind travel agent, who will.
