CNET’s Sree Sreeniviasan Goes Over The Best Travel Apps To Ease Your
Journey

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Going on vacation is supposed to be relaxing, but
we all know flying can be anything but that.
Crowded flights, delays that make connections nearly impossible and bad
weather can all disrupt your trip.
To help ease all that stress, the editors of _www.smartertravel.com_
(http://smartertravel.com/) came up with a list of the top five travel apps,
which you can find by searching your mobile’s _app_
(http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/05/02/cnets-sree-sreeniviasan-goes-over-the-best-travel-apps-to-ease-
your-journey/#) store.
Number one on their list? An app called _“Flyer’s Rights.”_
(http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flyersrights-org/id353439723?mt=8) Arm yourself with all
the new government regulations designed to protect travelers. They won’t
make your flight take off any faster, but at least you’ll know where you
stand.
If your carrier cancels, you might want to try _“NextFlight.”_
(http://www.touchmeme.com/nextflight.html) It enables you to find all the next
available flights for that day and up to two days away.
To find a good deal on a flight, try _“SkyScanner.”_
(http://www.skyscanner.com/mobile/iphone.html) It searches flights from both the airlines and
_online travel_
(http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/05/02/cnets-sree-sreeniviasan-goes-over-the-best-travel-apps-to-ease-your-journey/#) agencies like
Expedia and Priceline.
If you’re running late to a flight and haven’t got time to get food, you
might want to try _“B4 You Board.”_
(http://www.hmshost.com/airports/mobileapp2/) The app, which only works with a few airports nationwide, allows
you to purchase meals and have them delivered gateside. The _developer_

-travel-apps-to-ease-your-journey/#) plans to expand in the coming
months.
You may also want to check out _“Priority Pass,”_
(http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/priority-pass/id406878019?mt=8) which helps you find lounges in
airports. Some of the lounges charge a fee, but if you have a really long
layover, or delay, it may be worth the extra money for a comfortable place to
wait it out.
Some sites Sreenivasan recommends to help you on your way include
_TripIt.com_ (http://tripit.com/) . It is a travel planning site, which displays
and tracks your trip. Also, there’s _Hipmunk.com_ (http://hipmunk.com/) ,
which will help you sort you airline ticket options by price, departure and
timing.
