No I do not yet. And it is what the bus company uses, but I will ask about it all information will be presented by me on September 30th, my person with the company has gone for labor day weekend. So I will be speaking with her on Monday.
We just needed a starting place first. I know people would like to know, but does it matter, I am definitely not trying to be rude or flip. They are nice hotels, not dirty motel 6 hotels. But they are not 5 star luxury hotels either, for the price we are paying on these trips, you have to realize this
The company is called Diamondtours.com, you may go there, it is opened to anyone to look at the tours they offer.
But when you register if you decide to, the trips are based from your zip code and are different prices depending on location.
I am also offering trips to some of the state affiliates and other divisions to help them in fundraising opportunities, but this is for our division.
A little bit on Diamontours.com
They are the number 1 Tour Bus Company in North America since 1989 and the largest with tour specialist in all there locations.
They are number 1 by AARP. American Association of Retired People.
All of these tours are dedicate for everyone and every disability and ability. Since there primary audience is the Senior Citizens, but they offer on the tours especially there buses, Clean new buses, bathrooms and videos on the buses.
Also, please remember we will not have the tour guides until we are at our locations.
They have done on site for those that are blind/visually impaired, if the location offers it, if not I will be working with Gail Smith for those that need it. She is my partner who does all my braille work and she is the Secretary of the NFB of Alabama.
They have already said, if you are deaf, you should try and have a interpreter with you. Guide Dogs are welcome at all our locations for those that want to bring your dogs.
Remember from the Description Nashville is mostly a show trip, I will have to ask about accessible equipment at the locations we will be visiting. So I will get this by September 30th.
Any other questions, I might be able to ask about this trip.
Remember we are also doing this not as a vacation, but to educate and to advocate. So if there are things there that are not accessible we need to let these people or companies know this.
Remember to invite friends and family members, especially those that are not blind and part of the NFB as well.
This is our fundraiser, we need to make sure that the fundraiser money isn't just coming from us. If you cannot come, then ask someone who likes in this case country music know and they can come.
For those starting off in the NY Area, we can do some on the bus education as well, educate the people traveling with us, especially those that have never really been around blind people before.
Let them know it is okay to ask questions, but also to remember to ask before you assist me please, or educate about your cane use and guide dog use, how you work if you do.
There will be times we can do this.
Take care everyone and have a nice Labor Day Weekend.
E-mail with questions.
