[Travelandtourism] title VI

Here in Atlantic Beach we have JacksonvilleTransportationt Authority (JTA) and Dial-A-Ride.  Dial-A-Ride doesn't allow any one who isn't a senior citizen to use their system and they don't leave the beaches.  JTA is not very dependable.  We have had numerous issues with drivers being late or not showing up at all, drivers dropping off totally blind/deaf-blind riders in the wrong location, and drivers refusing to leave their vehicle.  We do have members of the NFB attend JTA meetings, but in the 25 years I've used the service I have seen little or no improvement.  The system is so unreliable that it is easier to struggle with getting some one sighted to take us from point A to point B than to depend on JTA.

Cheryl, it is all relative.  Where I live I don't have service after
5:45 in the evening, and nothing on weekends.  Granted I live in a
suburb, somewhat outside twin cities, service in inner ring of
suburbs, and cities is better.
