Our meeting will be held on July 2 from 1-4PM
Our meeting will be located on July 2 at
1:00 - 4:00 pm—TRAVEL AND TOURISM DIVISIONSalon 7, level 21:00 pm–Registration; 1:30 pm–Meeting begins Discuss travel with blind consumers and blind travel professionals; panel discussions with guests Mark Jones, Manager, Domestic Services for Guests with Disabilities, Disney Parks and Resorts; Rob Nevin (Principal U-R-Able) Program ALT; and other panelists; elections; dues $10; Cheryl Echevarria, Pres
We will be having 2 people at the registration table. We are asking those that are coming to please bring your membership dues, we take cash, checks made out to the NFB Travel & Tourism Division and will will try to use our paypal.com app to take credit cards, but you must be able to sign you name on this.
The dues are $10.00 per person.
We will have Milton Taylor, Treasurer and Margo Downey doing the table, Also I will be at the front door welcoming people, as well as my husband Nelson Echevarria, who is sighted if you need any assistance as well as Jo Taylor, Milton's wife.
We request that if you are attending that you give us your name and spelled the first and last name, phone number and e-mail.
Even if you are not joining the division we request this information to contact you after the meeting, and also to determine for future conventions on how many people actually attends.
The meeting will start promptly at 1:30 we have a busy agenda.
Welcome to the meeting from the President Cheryl EchevarriaIntroduction of our officers, no elections this year, 2014 will be electionsmoment of silence to people who are no longer with us.
We will also have a treasury report. We did not have a secretary last year to record our meetings, but this year Secretary Margo Downey will be taking minutes.
President Cheryl Echevarria will give a report of what has gone one since last year's meeting, our 1st fundraiser event, our website, what we would like for the future and more involvement in the division by members.
We will then have our guest speakers.
Jessica Snyder will be discussing traveling to and the culture of China
Rob Nevin will be discussing the software Alt, and how it can be used in the travel profession by suppliers and larger travel agencies.
Mark Jones , Manager, Domestic Services for Guests with Disabilities, Disney Parks and Resorts. Will be discussing updates for people who are blind at the both parks and updates at the resorts.
Treasurer Milton Taylor, Secretary Margo Down and myself along with our spouses and guide dogs will be taking a tour on July 1st with Mark Jones of the Magic Kingdom, and hopefully since we will be in Orlando for the next several years, that each year he will take us to a different park.
We have limited time with each guest, so we want them to do a 20 minute presentation and the Q&A. We hope you will wait until the presentations are over before you ask your questions.
Secretary Margo Downey will also be recording our trip with Mark on the 1st and will post these notes and minutes to the list and to our website after National Convention.
Remember we need you as members, if you are attending National remember to become a member. We will have monthly teleconference meetings just like a nfb meeting, and your input on fundraising is important as well.
