Now you are being disrespectful to me. I have not called your names or
anything and unless you know me personally, you have no idea what I can or
cannot do. Again, I am asking you to be reasonable here. I am also copying
someone who handles all of our talk lists, and see what can be done to
remove you should you continue to be insulting to myself or anyone here.

I am a person who not only has lost her vision but has also gone through
dialysis and has had a kidney transplant 10 years ago, I have worked to
advocate not only in the travel realm here in the United States but also
around the world little by little.

So call me a coward and more if you like, but I know who I am and what I can
do. If that means getting help from people who have only helped make me a
stronger person, so be it.

God Bless and Happy Holidays, but if you are going to spew nastiness and
other stuff here, you will be removed. I cannot do that myself, but I am
letting know those who can.

You went to far Mr. Gallacher and it will not be accepted.

Thank you

characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

And you are too cowardly to probably even ask for assistance when or if you
needed it. I am not, and most of the other blind persons I know are not.
Get real! The NFB is a bunch of brainwashed people who only want to do what
they want.

Last comment on the issues, opinions are like a body part we all have,
everyone has one, that doesn't mean we show it to the world.

You do, that is fine, but if you don't like the NFB , then why are you here.

Please be respectful and keep negativity about the way you feel about us to
a minimum. For whatever reason you think we brainwash people, please I would
recommend you share that with our National President Mr. Riccobono or Dr.
Maurer or the state affiliate president for which you live.

Jordan:

As President of the NFB Travel & Tourism Division, I find that statement
very offensive. No we do not brainwash you. I am not going to have a
fight/argument over it, and I appreciate that no one else engage in this
topic with Jordan. We allow anyone on these lists that are not member of
the NFB, but you do not have a right to insult our organization. If you do
not like the NFB or our philosophy, then please keep your opinions to
yourself.

We believe in being independence and living the life you want, whether that
is learning the skills that will get you through life or not. Up to you. We
don't say you have to do everything we do. I for sure do not. I never went
to an NFB School. I lost my vision as an adult, and have all the
opportunities out there, that I became a business owner with the right
attitude.

Many people think that we are militant or a cult, which we are not. NFB
takes higher standard for blind people of all degrees of blindness, from low
vision to totally blind. If we don't then who will, we believe that blind
people have a right to live the life they want. If you, Jordan, do not feel
this is right and that blind people are entitled to everything in life just
because we are blind, that is not the way life is for anyone. We have to get
off our own seats or closets and do what we want.

Sighted people do this, coming from someone who was sighted up until 11
years ago.

Jordan, you are welcome to stay and be a part of the discussion, but you are
not allowed to insult us or put us down.

Thank you.

No it is not important to go to conventions. They will brainwash you to
only think the way they think not as an individual.

I understand, but you said you were traveling with you mother. You don't
need to come to conventions, it is important as an NFB member, because it is
our national elections and activities that go on as a National Organization.

It just sounds like you need cane travel skills to be more independent.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the advice that you have given me. I have never flown on my
own before. Whenever I fly it is with my family members. Due to my school
schedule I have never attended any of the Nfb national conventions here in
Orlando.
