[Travelandtourism] Just an update on the rules of all NFB Lists in general

Hello everyone:

 

Just a comment on the recent activity that has gone on, not only on the
Travel & Tourism list, but I have read it on other lists as well. You are
all to disagree with others, as long as you are respectful, you are on the
NFB lists whether you are an NFB member or not, blind or not, to learn and
ask questions and be part of this community.

 

But posting nasty and vicious things about an organization or the people
that run it, then like I mentioned either leave or don't post, if you have
never been to an NFB meeting or convention, come and join, we don't force
you to join. In fact, a standard practice with the Greater Long Island
Chapter here in NY, we allow you to attend 3 meetings without charging you
the $10 a year membership fee. 

 

But like in any organization, group, family, etc. You will not always agree
with what they are doing, I don't always agree with some things the NFB does
but and I let those people know whom it is coming from know about it. But we
are a democratic organization and believe that blindness is a characteristic
like someone being tall or short, fat or skinny, black or white. 

 

You make the decision if it Is for you, some do not maybe they were never
given this opportunity as a younger person, etc. 

 

Again, please be respectful, I never called the other person names, just put
my foot down. It will not be tolerated nastiness. But you can post your
disagreement about things.
