[Travelandtourism] What have been people's experiences with Alaska Airlines?

We fly Alaska regularly. They are, compared to other airlines, great. One attendant didn’t understand something about role and placement of a service dog in the aisle across from me. When informed and given correct info by the passenger and then immediately another attendant who came over, she apologized, backed off it and was particularly attentive, helpful and friendly for the rest of the flight. Later on landing, the pilot came out to meet and greet and had quite an enthusiastic visit. This is pretty much how we see those folks on Alaska. If you fly United, however, bring a can opener to get into your seat, and be prepared to gently but firmly handle officious staff.
