Tc Conference app The app is called TCConference and can be purchased for free from the app store. Download and install the app do not launch the app because it is self launching when you launch a safari page or enter a chat room. If you go into a room, you should hear a prompt asking for TCConference to control your microphone. If you do not hear the prompt for the app to take control of your microphone, you can go in to settings, go to privacy, then to microphones then to TCConference and turn on microphone. Then double tap the back button and go out of settings and close settings in ap switcher. When you are in a room you will first come to two name and password edit boxes which are filled in with your information and can be bypassed. Then click the done button in the lower right corner of the, screen then click the connect button and it will say webpage loaded. Then go to the #3 chat voice tab and double tap. There is a talk button and mute button. The talk button is a toggle between talk and stop which allows you to talk and releases the key for another person to speak. When you double tap the talk button initinially, you will hear a chirping sound letting you know that you have the “talk key” and are talking. When you finish speaking, you wait a couple of seconds and double tap the talk key to finish. There are also areas to type in text messages. There is a slight delay when listening to the ends of others’ sentences. Otherwise the ease when using and portability of the app is helpful for some people wishing to use a smaller iDevice or Mac computer to access a chat room on a Talking Communities website. A windows based computer is the most stable way to access the site. Another difficulty with the TCConference app is that no person using this app with an iPhone when in a Talking Communities room for example on NfbLive Games Galore will have moderator priveliges. A person using a Mac however will have moderator privileges according to Clyde, Talking Communities Technical Consultant who works closely with the app’s developers. This app gives you limited functionality in a room as far as talking in a room. It does not give you the full functionality in a room with moderator privileges that a windows based PC would give a sponsor seeking to moderate a room. However for some people, an iDevice is their choice and can now be use with the TCConference app to interface with the NfbLive website and chat rooms in a more limited way than a windows based PC.
