Students:
Don't let this opportunity slip you by! This scholarship is more than
money -- it's a ticket to the Virginia state convention, where you can
meet leaders in the Federation, learn about how to be a more efficient
blind person, and meet lots of interesting people!
If you have any questions, contact the scholarship committee or me.

The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia is an organization
dedicated to creating opportunity for all blind people. To that end,
recipients of NFBV James F. Nelson, Jr. scholarships need not be
members of the National Federation of the Blind of Virginia. Each
applicant will be considered for all scholarships for which he or she
qualifies. All scholarships will be awarded based on academic
excellence and community service. Individuals who have applied in
previous years are encouraged to apply again.
The scholarship committee, consisting of successful blind college
graduates, will review all applications and select the scholarship
recipients. Recipients will be notified of their selection by
telephone by October 15, 2009. All decisions of the scholarship
committee are final.
