yes, the events will be in various areas of the state.
Chris you are right we have a big state and its harder to travel to various
places due to the distance. In other states, you can travel by car in a few
hours. One can travel several hours in VA and still not cover the state
though. Anyways, we will do what we can do in the state.
It is true NFB coverage is poor in some parts of the state.
For students or anyone in those regions who want involvement, there is an
at-large chapter.
You can participate in that chapter through conference call.

If you all have one near Williamsburg or Fredericksburg, that might be
somewhere I can get to.
For those not making the events, fortunately, the state convention is in a
good place for public transit of any kind. There is even a hotel shuttle
from the metro and the Tysons mall. Your chapter might even have organized
paid transit to the convention hotel. With several options, you should be
able to make state convention.

If there are clusters of students living in one geographic area, I encourage
you to get together.
For instance, there are a handful in Northern virginia.
It may not be a vabs event then, but its good to have support and
opportunities to share ideas among each other while having fun.

Ashley

This sounds like a very exciting event, and a great way to get students
involved while having a good time! Connections are what we're all about, and
it seems like VABS is doing a wonderful job of fostering them. Way to go!

I hope you are planning to conduct similar events across the state, as VA is
a big state and one which covers a wide area. As is understandable with
states of this size, there are areas which don't receive wide Federation
coverage—the area in which I go to school, for example. It's important to
reach out to students in these areas as well, but I'm sure you already know
that. Congratulations on a soccessful start to a worthy project!
