Subject: [VABS] VABS Business Meeting at Convention

Greetings VABS

I'd like to take the time to update you all on the biggest VABS event of
the year. The annual business meeting and elections for the Virginia
Association of Blind Students will take place on Saturday, November 4,
2017 at 12pm during the 59th National Federation of the Blind of
Virginia's state convention. The convention will be at the Westin Tyson's
Corner in Falls Church, VA. This business meeting is important for a
variety of reasons:

1.	It allows for the division to become fully caught up on all things
that have been done in the past year.
2.	It allows for the past leadership of the division to address any
questions that members may have about all that we have done and worked
towards during the year.
3.	It allows for our membership to select the new year's leadership
in
a democratic fashion.

As noted, the elections of the board for the Virginia Association of Blind
Students will take place during our student luncheon, which was
unanimously voted to feature our signature pizza lunch. This will differ
from every other lunch being provided at convention because they are
selling boxed lunches on Saturday. These boxed lunches will cost $18 and
will include a sandwich among other things. A student's pizza lunch at the
luncheon will cost $7 and will include two slices of pizza and soda. You
will be able to register for the pizza luncheon for students when you
register for convention. Please keep in mind, if you do not pay for a
pizza lunch, you will not be provided one. This is a catered event done by
the hotel and they are cooking for precisely the amount that registers.
Also, if you do not buy pizza, you can still attend the meeting. Finally,
stay tuned for more announcements about when convention registration will
become available. I look forward to connecting with you all in November.

Best Regards
