Hey VABS
It was a great call this evening. I just want to take the time to cover all
the things we decided on this month's call.
1. VABS bowling event will be huge. We have a total of 5 students
confirmed so far attending. We have supporters of the Peninsula, Tidewater,
and Chesapeake Bay chapters coming as well. VABS members remember to sell
raffle tickets for the Amazon Tap. If you have family that want to buy or
you have some money and want to purchase. I can do electronic payment with
Square Cash App as well.
2. Marc will be ordering the bracelets for our fundraiser. We have
Michael signed up to assist in fundraising on Friday, Emmanuel assisting on
Saturday, and Chris Nusbaum assisting on Sunday morning during convention.
3. State Convention will be epic. We have an agenda set up and Tracy
Soforenko has just released the official agenda for the convention. Remember
to register for convention and pay for your student lunch ASAP.
Elections will take place at the end of our pizza luncheon and business
meeting. The nominating committee chair, Emmanuel Finnell has released the
slate for the division to consider. The 2017 slate of nominated officers for
VABS are:
Robert Parsons| President
Naim Abu El-Hawa|Vice President
Kinston Walker| Secretary
Andrea Perry| Treasurer
Michael Munn | board Member (Communications Chair)
Oscar Montiel | Board Member (MembershipChair)
Marc Canamaso|Board Member (Fundraising Chair)
Garrett Kearns|Board Member (Legislative Chair)
Remember, this slate is based off of a suggestion that the division and
nominating committee feels would do a great job at a position. These
decisions are not set in stone. If you feel that you or someone else can do
one of these jobs justice, you have a right to nominate them or yourself as
long as you have paid you $5 dues on Friday at the student social. All paid
members are allowed a right to vote and run for a position with the
exception of the individuals on the nominating committee (Emmanuel Finnell,
Tracy Jones, Sharon Jose). If you have any more questions, please let me
know.
Thanks
