Hi,
Anyone know about this? What is the trial about involving the Las Angeles Community college district?
How were Roy and Portia discriminated against?
I do not live in that area but I hope it goes well. It must be really bad because its at the point of a trial.
I felt discriminated against in college sometimes. I was at George Mason university before I transferred to complete my BA degree at Marymount university. I ended up dropping my complaints and really not pursuing it much. The discrimination was mostly in verbal conversations after class so it was impossible to prove anyways and I just wanted to go on with my degree.
I was discriminated against by a dance instructor who clearly did not want me in his class as one example. On a positive side though, many professors went the extra mile to help me and when I had questions about course content, they eagerly assisted me in office hours. This happened more often for professors who used visuals or wrote on the blackboard or white board a lot since I could not read their notes. So I got lost in lectures and asked them after class or in office hours but now a days most notes are written electronically anyways so I just get a copy of the notes from them.

Thanks for sharing, Naim.
Ashley
