The Canal Walk is a portion of the Historic Central Canal, an early
19th-century project designed to facilitate commerce. Today, Canal Walk
stretches through White River State Park north to 11th St. Canal Walk
features a mix of old and new architecture, attractions and monuments which
offers a waterside promenade for strolls, jogging, inline skating, biking
and boating. Amenities: Pedal boat rentals, assorted bike rentals, murals,
bridges, fountains, History Center waterside cafe, waterfalls Attractions:
U.S.S. Indianapolis Memorial, Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial,

Visit the Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial in Downtown Indianapolis.
Visit America's only memorial honoring recipients of the nation's highest

Visit the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. One of just
two museums east of the Mississippi with both Native American and Western
art. Within walking distance of the RCA Dome, Circle Centre Mall and

Take a Tour of the Madame Walker Heritage Center. Tours for groups of 10+
focus on Madam C. J. Walkers life and legacy as well as the lives of other

Visit The Children's Museum in Indianapolis. One of the largest and best
children's museums in the world. Dinosphere features one of the largest
displays of real juvenile and family dinosaur fossils in the U.S. Open

Indiana State Police Museum Take a step back in time on a tour through our
Historical Center. You can travel into our past taking a look at various
uniforms, cars and equipment used by the Indiana state police over the
years. 

During a tour, visitors can see displays of donated and confiscated items
from the John Dillinger era, as well as a moonshine still, a variety of
state police vehicles, and numerous antique equipment relating to law
enforcement. The Historical Center also serves as the administrative offices
of the Indiana State Police Youth Services. Since 1970, the state police has
sponsored camps for middle and high school students interested in law
enforcement.
