[VendTalk] best web host for independent management of a website

Hi,

My name is Jessica.
I just joined this list today.
I have my own website, and am wondering where is the best place to host it, for independent management? 
At the moment, I'm using 1amd1, and can't manage the site myself.
What do you recommend? 
I'd mainly use my iphone, or braillenote touch to manage the site.
