I am a freelance documentary film researcher. I’m working on a project now that is sponsored by Pedigree dog food. It will be 2-3 minute short documentary for the web about the relationship between a blind or visually impaired man and his guide dog. It will take about 3 days of filming with the dog owner in his hometown, probably from March 28-April 1.

I am writing you in the hope that you might be able to put me in touch with some guide dog owners who might be right for this project. Our casting specs are quite open, most important is finding the most engaging and appealing dog owner, who has a truly special relationship with his dog. We do have a few criteria:

- the dog owner should be someone who has recently lost his sight

- location is either Pacific Northwest or Northeast US

- male dog owner, ideally between 20-40, though we’re somewhat flexible on that age range

- dog should be light-colored, a lab would be perfect

There will be a modest financial compensation for the person who appears in the film. The production company is Public Record, I’ve worked with them in the past and they always make beautiful, impactful films. Here’s their website: http://thepublicrecord.tv/

I’d be extremely grateful for your help finding the right person.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Theresa
