Hi everyone,
A few months back I told you guys of my plans to start a student group for
students in the Ventura County who were blind. I am happy to announce that
on April 24, YESSI (Young Energetic Students Supporting Independence) had
it's very first meeting. Since then we've put to gehter and conducted our
own fund raisor which brought in over three hundred dollars, we've created a
friendly MySpace where other teens can socialize with our members and learn
about our cause, and we've put together an email account designated to the
YESSI student group.
Among these things are so many others. We've also helped one of our
supporters get his eagle from egale scouts by creating a large almost three
dementional tactile map of three different school campuses in the area
complete with raised lines, and braille lables. Not to mention NFB and BSA
(Boy Scouts of America) written out on the edges.
If you have any questions you can ask for sure. But also, if you wouldn't
mind spreading the info, our MySpace page URL is:
www.myspace.com/yessi_blind_student_group
And, our email is:
yessi.nfbc.ci.studentgroup at gmail.com
We are currently in the process of creating our own website, the plans are
looking excited, and as soon as it is up and running I will let you know how
to visit us.
Thank you
Aziza
