When describing your past accomplishments in your resume, it is always
better if you use action verbs in those descriptions. For example,
“Developed”,”Oversaw”,”Implemented”, etc. Is there any way to do even a
better job at using the right words that will land you the job? Here is a
technique I learned from a friend.

He would go through the newspaper looking at the industry job descriptions
he was interested in. He identified the most common words used to describe
those positions and used them in his resume and cover letter. Often the
person whose job it is to go through the resumes has very little knowledge
of the position other than the words she was given to look for. Using the
terms your industry uses helps her pull your resume out of the pile and
helps you to get the job.
