*Kids learn from artist John Bramblitt, an artist who is blind, in the 
Art Beyond Sight program at First Tuesdays at the Dallas Museum of Art.
*FIRST TUESDAYS *Kids 5 and younger can meet blind artist John Bramblitt 
and his guide dog, Echo, and do activities in keeping with this month's 
theme, Use Your Senses, as they create art on Oct. 1 at the Dallas 
Museum of Art. They can play with scented play dough, listen to the 
sounds of nature and explore different textures from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 
and sketch with scented pencils and meet Arturo, the museum's family 
mascot, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There'll be a demonstration by Bramblitt 
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., stories with Ann Marie Newman from 11:30 a.m. to 
noon, a family tour from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. and story time with the 
Dallas Public Library from 1 to 1:30 p.m. No registration needed.

Irving Arts Center presents artist George Mendoza on Saturday

The *Irving Arts Center* presents legally blind artist, athlete and 
author *George Mendoza* at 1 p.m. Saturday for an artist talk.

His talk will be followed by Family Fun activities from 2 to 4 p.m. The 
activities will be inspired by his exhibit, Colors of the Wind, which 
runs through Nov. 10 in the Main Gallery.

The two events are part of the center's *Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day 
Live* event, where museums nationwide offer free admission and 
activities to encourage visits to museums. Visit
