[blindkid] Large Print required

As has been stated so often, since the sighted receive printed materials,
why shouldn't the blind receive Braille; why should the blind child or adult
suffer, and only must listen to tape recording as "the provision?"

Currently we do not have a Braille quality standard in the IEP. What we do
have is a taped meeting at which we introduced the information from the
TSBVI website that outlines the characteristics of quality Braille. We
requested that this be the standard for Braille for David. The district
refused to guarantee quality Braille. It was not a friendly discussion but
the outcome has been that everyone is trying very hard to be sure that David

gets material in Braille and on time with few errors. This year has been a
huge improvement over past years because they know we are monitoring it and
will make an issue of it if quality/availability of Braille drops off in the

future.
