If you are going to teach in a school I think you would need to have a
bachelors degree and a masters degree. If you were interested in teaching
braille I know that Hadley teachs it as well as some of the rehabilitation
centers in most states. I would think it would all depend on where and who
you wanted to teach.

Subject: [blindkid] Braille Instructor question
Hi everyone!
I was wondering what the qualifications are to become a braille teacher.
My understanding is to become a TVI you have to first have an education
degree + teaching certificate then the TVI designation is added on by a
masters degree. Is that correct?
Is a TVI the only professional allowed to teach braille? Is there such a
thing as a certified braille instructor that is not a TVI? If so, what is
the educational background required for that?
Thanks!
