Hi Terry,
I don't know about that I-phone that was mentioned above and if Verizon offers it.
Someone else can give you more information on it.

AT&T will not sell you the software unless you are a customer.
You can get mobile speaks from the company, but it is about $300 and I don't think that it will work with verizon phones.

there is no alternative for Verizon.
There is one verizon phone that is mildly speech friendly.
I mean, it does not read the menus and I don't think that it reads text messaging.
But, it speaks the numbers and maybe has a talking caller id.
I will ask what phone that this is and get back with you.
Know, however, that it is not as accessible as phones with talking software.
