[blindkid] Braille reading speed

There's an interesting EdD thesis from 1989, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN
BLIND LEARNING APTITUDE TEST SCORES AND BRAILLE READING SPEED AND
COMPREHENSION OF CHILDREN WHO ARE BLIND
by CHRISTINE PETERSON BAKER, B.S., M.S. Texas Tech University.

For example, she tested (Page 62, Table 1) 30 blind schoolkids (aged
8-15) and found that the oral reading speed ranged from 12 to 102
words per minute -- and she was fairly careful with her measurements.
Keep in mind that this is oral reading speed which would be slower
than our usual reading for comprehension speed -- but it has the
advantage that the observer can really tell that you're reading every
word!

There's much more in the dissertation about the correlation between
reading speed and reading comprehension, but I don't have time to read
the whole thing!
